Ukrainian drone strikes force Russia to suspend shipping in Sea of Azov - AOL
Ukrainian drone strikes have compelled Russia to suspend shipping in the Sea of Azov, targeting 90 vessels in less than a week, the report says. Robert Brovdi, head of Ukraine’s drone forces, stated on Sunday that his units hit 10 tankers and four ferries overnight, along with a major oil refinery in Syzran. It also cites multiple strikes on electricity substations in occupied Crimea. Brovdi said Moscow’s “shadow fleet” transporting sanctioned oil products is shrinking and can no longer use the Kerch Strait, the link between the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea. Russia suspended shipping via the Don-Azov canal on Friday, Reuters reported, effectively shutting an export route connected to Kerch and Turkey’s Bosphorus. The article adds that Ukrainian strikes disrupt a key maritime corridor affecting military vessels and grain shipments from Berdyansk and Mariupol, with oil spill reports near Taganrog.
