United Airlines launching new service from Ottawa to Denver next summer
United Airlines will launch a nonstop route between Ottawa and Denver next summer, adding another U.S. link for travelers from Canada’s capital. The announcement was made by Air Canada, as part of a deal to expand the airlines’ joint venture agreement for flights between the United States and Canada. Air Canada said the new route begins next summer. Joel Tkach, vice president of business development and marketing for the Ottawa International Airport Authority, said Denver becomes United’s fourth destination from Ottawa, strengthening United’s role as Air Canada’s partner and improving U.S. connectivity. United currently operates from Ottawa to Newark, Washington D.C., and Chicago. Porter Airlines is also set to launch Ottawa–London, Ont., next spring.
