United Airlines To Complete Boeing 737 MAX 8 Guam Swap Out 2 Months Earlier Than Planned reports that Star Alliance partner United expects to finish its Boeing 737 MAX 8 fleet transition for its Guam-based operations earlier than planned. According to AeroRoutes and statements shared with Flights In Asia, the MAX 8 will operate all intra-Asia/Pacific flights into Tokyo Narita (NRT) by the end of July, with the exception of services to Saipan, which resume August 2. The airline also updated schedules so that Guam International Airport (GUM) will move to all MAX 8 operations on October 1 instead of December. New MAX 8 routes begin with Narita to Mactan Cebu (CEB) on July 17 and Narita to Kaohsiung (KHH) on July 18, followed by GUM–NRT services from July 19. United began receiving the first MAX 8 in mid-March and notes some earlier sporadic deployments, while maintenance and connectivity upgrades continue.
