Vero Beach Tops Trending Destinations as Expanded Flights Entice Northeast Buyers
Vero Beach, Florida, has topped Skyscanner’s list of trending destinations for 2027, with U.S. flight searches up 201.17% year over year, ahead of Bimini (Bahamas) and Olbia (Italy). The Reynolds Team of Compass, a luxury real estate firm based in Vero Beach, links the surge to nonstop routes that have turned Vero Beach Regional Airport into a same-day option for much of the Northeast. Airport traffic rose sharply: it handled 43,760 passengers in March 2026 versus 5,900 in March 2023. The report says 2025 traffic was about 2.5 times the 2043 master-plan forecast of 55,000 annual passengers. New service includes Breeze Airways starting February 2023, JetBlue nonstop to Boston in December 2025, and American daily flights to Charlotte from February 2026, with additional Breeze routes added in 2026. The firm cites strong off-season sales—about $223 million in closed deals June–August 2026, up 33%—driven partly by out-of-state, often cash, buyers.
