Harvey says the incident happened on a flight from Istanbul to Washington, D.C., when a woman asked her to give up her aisle seat so the woman and her husband could sit together two rows away, with the husband taking the aisle seat and the wife moving into the middle seat. Harvey posted that the woman “sobbed” for three hours, while the husband wore headphones and slept the entire trip. The Instagram Reel, dated Oct. 9, drew nearly 5 million views and was reshared widely. Harvey said she was returning from Kazakhstan after her father’s death and needed quiet time to cope, explaining why she refused. The plane later landed, and she told the woman, “Good job. Look at you surviving without your husband for ten hours.”
