Wish you were here? EasyJet's drive to hire over-50s cabin crew

easyJet is extending a recruitment push that targets older workers for cabin crew roles, building on an initiative launched in 2022. Since then, the airline says the number of cabin crew over the age of 50 has more than doubled, while over-60s have grown by almost four times. easyJet cites internal research suggesting many adults who change careers after 50 report improved happiness, driven by regaining control, feeling more capable and increased confidence. Today, 12% of easyJet cabin crew are over 50, and applications open from September across UK bases. The airline highlights stories such as 64-year-old Francesca Hicks, who joined after an open day and has completed more than 250 flights.
