Woman sues Delta over alleged false trafficking report
An Arkansas woman has filed a $2.35 million lawsuit against Delta Air Lines and Endeavor Air, alleging a flight attendant falsely accused her father of trafficking and abusing her during a 2019 family trip. The incident began when 13-year-old Madison Cupp was traveling with her family from Memphis to Virginia for her brother’s Coast Guard graduation; during turbulence on a connecting flight from Atlanta to Newport News, a flight attendant reportedly interpreted the situation as trafficking. Law enforcement boarded the plane and questioned her father, and authorities reportedly determined there was no basis for charges. Cupp seeks $2 million in compensatory damages and $350,000 in punitive damages. The father filed a related suit in 2022, while Delta and Endeavor have not publicly commented.
