World's longest flight will fly for 22 hours non-stop from London in 2027

Qantas has announced a landmark route that will become the world's longest non-stop commercial flight, connecting London and Sydney in up to 22 hours. Beginning in October 2027, the service will travel the 16,995-kilometre distance in one leg, surpassing the current longest flight between New York and Singapore. The aircraft involved are 12 Airbus A350-1000ULRs, each carrying 238 seats across four cabins and equipped with a 20,000-litre extended fuel tank. Tickets are slated to go on sale from February 2027. The project, named Sunrise, also includes plans for a Australia–New York direct route and continues to leverage existing Perth–London and Sydney–Singapore–London services.
