Xiamen unveiled as destination for 2027's IATA AGM

Xiamen will host the 2027 IATA AGM, marking the third time China hosts the event. The meeting will run from May 30 to June 1, 2027, hosted by Xiamen Airlines, IATA said during its Rio de Janeiro gathering. Willie Walsh, IATA's director general, cited China's large passenger traffic and welcomed the venue as a chance to witness the market's growth firsthand. It will be the 83rd AGM and follows Shanghai in 2002 and Beijing in 2012 as Chinese hosts. Xiang'an International Airport is set to open later this year, underscoring Xiamen's rise as a transport and business hub. Xiamen Airlines CEO Xie Bing noted the development of the market as a backdrop for the AGM.
