Years after 9/11, fresh grieving and healing for Flight 93 sister
xCruzo Brief
Years after Sept. 11, a sister of United 93 passenger Richard Guadagno is still sorting through memories while the National Park Service archives her family’s materials. Lori Guadagno, 66, went through boxes at her father Jerry Guadagno’s home in Cypress Village, searching for items from Richard’s childhood, including a folded U.S. flag that flew over the U.S. Capitol in 2002. She and her partner Ross Bratlee later drove from Jacksonville Beach to the Flight 93 National Memorial in Pennsylvania, where the contents will be added to an expanding collection about the 40 passengers on United 93. The 25th anniversary is especially difficult as Jerry died July 21 at 101.
