Arizona Fish Camp introduces young anglers to fishing, conservation

Arizona Fish Camp is introducing teens to fishing while emphasizing conservation and outdoor stewardship. This year’s weeklong program brought two dozen anglers, ages 13 to 17, to a Mogollon Rim lake for hands-on fly-fishing instruction. Hosted by Trout Unlimited in partnership with the Arizona Game and Fish Department, the summer camp focused on building fishing skills and helping students develop a deeper understanding of Arizona’s freshwater ecosystems. Activities were designed to connect traditional outdoor recreation with practical conservation habits. The effort reflects a broader push to build responsible anglers by pairing technique training with stewardship education.
