No. 25 Missouri opened the 2026 season with a dominant 54-14 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Thursday night at Faurot Field. Austin Simmons threw for 252 yards and four touchdowns in a debut that lasted less than a half, going 17 of 19 before giving way to backup Matt Zollers for the final series of the first half. Simmons, who lost the starting job to Trinidad Chambliss at Ole Miss after an injury, transferred to the SEC rival and quickly made an impact. Donovan Olugbode led with eight catches for 116 yards and two scores. Jamal Roberts added a rushing touchdown, starting in place of All-America back Ahmad Hardy, who is recovering from a gunshot wound. Arkansas-Pine Bluff quarterback play was split between Garrison Davis and Jack Schierholz.
