Barkley Airport seeks input about possible future Florida and beach air service
xCruzo Brief
Barkley Regional Airport is asking the public to weigh in on whether the region can support additional nonstop leisure air service—potentially to Florida and other beach-focused destinations. In a Friday release, Marketing Manager Kat Byars said passenger demand has exceeded expectations since February for the airport’s recently added United Airlines schedule to Chicago and Houston, operated by SkyWest. The board’s prior decisions were informed by a customer survey conducted in April 2025. Now, Barkley Regional Airport Authority and Louisville-based aviation consultant L.B. Schmidt & Associates have posted a new survey to guide future conversations with airlines. The survey remains open through Monday, August 24.
