Bears Defensive Line Injuries Make the Simmons Trade Look Even Smarter
xCruzo Brief
On Tuesday night, Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Poles reopened trade talks for defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, and by Thursday the deal was completed. Monday night in Seattle, the Bears won 34-17, but injuries on their defensive line limited the night. Kentavius Street suffered a knee injury in the fourth quarter and was ruled out after being carted off. Grady Jarrett, the left tackle starter, left the same quarter with a groin injury and was listed as doubtful. With Street and Jarrett gone, Simmons played heavily and finished with six tackles, a sack, two tackles for loss, and a pass defensed while holding Seattle to 252 yards.
