Boat Men and Robin

A calm Saturday kayak trip turned into an urgent wildlife rescue when a robin became tangled in discarded fishing line over a creek. While the narrator stood ankle-deep in mud, Myles—spotted from a tree—climbed and coordinated a plan to free the bird. The robin slipped free from the branch but hung upside down, still trapped by its feet. After several attempts, they finally managed to capture it near the kayak. Myles then cupped the bleeding bird while the narrator tried to contact animal control or a rescue shelter and, if needed, the police station across the creek.
