Bought two homes by 24 - by saving up £1k a month since aged 18'
Jacob Waddington, 24, has bought a second home by saving steadily since age 18, putting away at least £1,000 a month of his wages. After college, he earned £24,000 a year working for a telecoms company, living with family and paying £200 a month. By age 23, he purchased a £98,000 two-bed house, investing about £20,000 in renovations with girlfriend Holly, 23, from Accrington, Lancashire. They later obtained a valuation of £160,000 and remortgaged the property to buy a second £140,000 cottage at auction, planning to turn it into an Airbnb. Jacob started a bar job two days a week paying £800 a month while focusing on renovations, completed by January 2026. The couple chose to rent the first property in March 2026 at £875 a month, more than double their £430 mortgage, and are seeking a third purchase.
