British tourist, 45, drowns after jumping from ferry to swim toward beach

A 45-year-old British tourist has died after jumping from the Dorimar ferry to swim toward shore between the beach resorts of Cambrils and Salou, near Tarragona in Catalonia, Spain. The incident occurred at 6.41pm local time on Sunday, with three ambulances and a team of psychologists dispatched. The family had boarded the ferry at 5.30pm on its last run of the day. During the trip, both brothers attempted to swim; one was seen struggling by passengers, who alerted the crew to contact maritime guards.
