The U.S. Department of Agriculture has issued a Class I recall for frozen Swai breaded fish products sold in eight states after the items violated import regulations. USDA says there is a reasonable probability the products could cause serious adverse health consequences or death. About 5,084 pounds of frozen Siluriformes fillet-and-stick products distributed by Shan Distribution Network, Inc. were produced in the United Arab Emirates, which the agency says is not eligible to export Siluriformes fish to the United States. The products were produced in December 2025 and have best-by dates in June 2027. Included items are Al Kabeer spicy “Zing Fish Fillets,” Al Kabeer “Fish Sticks,” and “Breaded Fish Fillets,” in specified package sizes. No illnesses have been reported, but consumers are told not to eat the products and to discard them or return them for a refund.
