Chiefs Mailbag: When will Cyrus Allen see the field?

In the Kansas City Chiefs mailbag, fans focused on player roles and contract expectations after a 22-6 win over the Los Angeles Chargers that left questions about how dominant the team looked. One reader asked whether wide receiver Rashee Rice could test free agency if he missed time, noting Rice had missed two games in 2026 and had limited action after off-field concerns. The response suggested the Chiefs likely keep Rice in 2027, possibly on an incentive-based “prove it” deal, while Xavier Worthy’s recent production—seven catches for 73 yards—shows value, though his target depth (4.3-yard ADoT) doesn’t match his draft profile. Another question addressed rookie rusher R. Mason Thomas, asking how he can convert high-pressure plays into sacks; the reply cited film study and experience, and compared him to Nik Bonitto’s rookie numbers.
