Cirencester sleep specialist launches support for neurodivergent families
A sleep specialist in Cirencester has launched a new service focused on helping families of autistic and neurodivergent children manage challenging bedtime routines. Michelle Cyril, a children’s nurse and advanced paediatric sleep specialist with nearly 30 years of experience, created The Family Sleep Specialist, offering evidence-based support described as neuro-affirming for autistic, PDA and ADHD children and teens. The service is available to families across the Cotswolds and beyond through online support. Cyril, whose 10-year-old twins are autistic, says conventional advice about “good bedtime routines” did not work for her own family, citing issues such as refusals around bath time and escalating conflicts at bedtime. Alongside NHS-commissioned children’s work, she runs one-to-one online sessions, home visits and group programmes, with access not requiring a formal diagnosis.
