Co-branded' Bed Bath & Beyond stores opening in 22 cities, with more expected
Bed Bath & Beyond is expanding its retail footprint with co-branded stores opening in 22 U.S. cities, following the creation of a combined concept with The Container Store. The rollout begins with an initial phase announced in a Thursday press release, as the companies previously filed for bankruptcy in 2023. Bed Bath & Beyond announced earlier this year it was acquiring The Container Store, while the Bed Bath & Beyond brand was previously relaunched as an online store and app after being purchased by Overstock.com. The first combined location opened in Fort Worth, Texas, in May, with additional sites set to open “immediately” across states including California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Washington. Executive Chairman and CEO Marcus Lemonis said the concept is designed around an integrated home shopping experience, and company leaders expect more rebranded conversions in subsequent weeks. A separate overhaul of 98 Container Store locations was announced to make room for the new format.
