Coast Guard suspends search for boater who went missing off Ocean City

The Coast Guard has suspended the search for a boater who went missing off Ocean City. Daniel Potter, 49, of Ocean Pines, was last seen June 10 after going overboard from his boat off Maryland’s coast, and Worcester County Sheriff's Office identified him. Potter’s friends recovered the boat around 1 p.m. on June 13 after a 20-hour search covering 2,539 square nautical miles. After suspending the case, the Coast Guard Cutter Pompano towed the vessel toward shore, and at about 11 p.m. June 12 the tow was passed to a boat crew from Coast Guard Station Indian River, which brought the boat to the station where it remained overnight before pickup.
