Cole Bishop injury update: Bills safety limps off field vs. Texans

Bills safety Cole Bishop left Sunday’s season opener against the Houston Texans with a knee/leg injury. He was injured at 3:33 remaining in the second quarter while making a tackle on Texans running back David Montgomery. Bishop stayed down after the play, appeared to stretch his leg, and then was able to walk off the field with members of Buffalo’s training staff. He briefly went into the team’s blue medical tent before returning to the sideline. Buffalo later listed Bishop as “probable” to return. At 23, Bishop produced heavily in his second NFL season, starting all 17 games in 2025 and leading the Bills with 85 tackles and three interceptions, along with two sacks and four tackles for loss. He entered the season as a starter in new defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard’s scheme.
