Country music superstar Kenny Chesney names album after New Hampshire marina

Country music star Kenny Chesney has put a New Hampshire marina in the national spotlight by naming his next album after Silver Sands Marina in Gilford. Chesney announced last week that “Silver Sands Marina” will be released Sept. 25, with the marina also featured on the cover art. On Friday, Gov. Kelly Ayotte celebrated the news, writing that it is “so cool” to see Lake Winnipesaukee highlighted and expressing hope that Chesney returns to perform in New Hampshire soon. The announcement follows earlier ties to the Granite State: in 2023, Chesney shared photos from a visit to Portsmouth, where he spent time with Wicked Tuna stars Marissa and Tyler McLaughlin. Chesney wrote then that he had a great day off and could not wait to go fishing.
