Dale Earnhardt Jr. Says The Producers Behind 'Days Of Thunder 2' Are "Doing Homework" To Make It As Authentic As Possible

Dale Earnhardt Jr. said the producers behind “Days of Thunder 2” are doing “homework” to make the sequel as authentic as possible, as momentum builds for the long-anticipated follow-up. Hollywood Reporter previously reported the film has a green light, to be directed by Jonathan Levine, with Tom Cruise returning to star as he did in the 1990 original. Jeff Gordon, vice chairman of Hendrick Motorsports and former No. 24 driver, told Road & Track that Cruise shared the sequel would happen during his time on “Mission: Impossible.” Paramount is backing the movie; Cruise will co-produce with Jerry Bruckheimer, and the script is being written by Will Staples.
