Dana White Slams FIFA Production Team as UFC Paramount Piles On With Finals Trolling
Dana White slammed the FIFA production team after UFC broadcast drama involving celebrity displays, and he claimed the World Cup’s final coverage was even worse. White said the UFC had already complained about its own production, but after the FIFA World Cup ended he argued that broadcasters made glaring mistakes, including issues involving celebrity identification. He referenced FOX Sports’ English broadcast, which also served as the UFC’s partner from 2011 to 2018, citing a moment when announcer John Strong mistakenly called actor Matt Damon “Brad Pitt” and then joked. White also pointed to BBC commentators mixing up Pharrell Williams with A$AP Rocky during Spain’s match against Argentina. He suggested the World Cup team “didn’t screw up” only after doubling down on the comparison. Paramount+ later joined in the trolling, comparing the final to a notorious UFC fight.
