Eleven sues Nike over Air Max with Slurpee maker's colors

7-Eleven sues Nike over an Air Max sneaker tied to the convenience chain’s signature tri-color stripe, echoing the “7-Eleven Day” launch on July 11. The retailer filed in federal court in Dallas, Texas, accusing Nike of copying the orange, green and red stripe design that 7-Eleven says customers associate with its branding. 7-Eleven argues the Nike Air Max 95 features a “confusingly similar imitation” and warns consumers could assume a sponsorship or endorsement, despite no partnership. The lawsuit seeks a court order blocking sales, a recall of distributed products, and monetary damages including Nike’s profits. Nike did not immediately comment.
