Entry opens for Nautilus Marine Insurance Sydney Short Ocean Racing Championship

Entries are now open for the Nautilus Marine Insurance Sydney Short Ocean Racing Championship (SSORC), the Middle Harbour Yacht Club’s annual offshore race that anchors the lead-in to the summer season. The 49th edition runs on 28 and 29 November, with notice of race and online entry available via mhyc.com.au/ssorc. All racing starts and finishes on Sydney Harbour at either Watsons Bay or on The Sound. The Saturday passage race is sailed in conjunction with the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia’s Summer Short Offshore Series, starting off Steele Point at Vaucluse and finishing in Watsons Bay. On Sunday, Premier and Performance Divisions will race two short windward/leeward offshore events, while Cruiser Racers do a mix of inshore/offshore passage racing. Standard entries close Wednesday 25 November at 23:59, and prizes are presented at 17:00 on Sunday 29 November at MHYC.
