Falic Group's latest acquisition in Abu Dhabi boosts its luxury retail portfolio in key region

Falic Group is expanding its luxury retail presence in Abu Dhabi by acquiring 100% of DFS’s luxury travel business at Zayed International Airport (also known as Abu Dhabi International Airport). The deal gives Falic Group’s Duty Free Americas business what it calls an “immediate, scaled presence” in one of the Middle East’s fastest-growing travel retail markets. The acquisition covers luxury and contemporary fashion, watches, jewellery and eyewear. In the next phase, Duty Free Americas plans to introduce new flagship brands, expand locations of top-performing brands and develop open-air retail concepts. Carsten Nørland of Abu Dhabi Airports said the agreement strengthens the airport’s commercial ecosystem, while Leon Falic described the acquisition as a milestone in the company’s Middle East strategy.
