Father died trying to save daughter off Cornish beach

John Collins, 66, drowned while trying to save his daughter Samantha Collins, 32, off a beach in Cornwall, according to a coroner’s court hearing. The court heard that Samantha was fishing when she was swept off rocks and into the sea, prompting her father to dive in to attempt a rescue. Collins later died.
