Fireworks sold nationwide recalled for malfunctions, injury-risk
About 100,000 fireworks sold nationwide have been recalled due to malfunction and injury risks, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The recall, issued Thursday, covers two products from Winco Fireworks International: Roman Candles 8 Shot 3-Pack (model RCLR-W8012) and Unity 7 Shot 200 Gram Aerial Cake (model MEF6096). The Roman candles, sold from April 2026 through June 2026 for $17 to $19, can malfunction, including shots that may blow out through the side of the tube, creating serious explosion and burn hazards. The aerial cake, sold from January 2026 through May 2026 for $6 to $8, can tip over, also posing serious explosion and burn hazards. No incidents or injuries have been reported. The CPSC says consumers should not use the recalled fireworks and can return them to the point of purchase for a full refund.
