First-Ever World Cup Halftime Show Is an "Action-Packed 11 Minutes," Says FIFA Producer highlights FIFA’s debut halftime show at the World Cup Final and the challenge of fitting major international stars into a compact runtime. Guy Carrington, executive producer from Done+Dusted, told The Hollywood Reporter the segment will be a tightly coordinated mega-mix prepared over months, with “a few more surprises” still in store. FIFA first announced the roster in May with BTS, Madonna and Shakira, then expanded it last week to include Justin Bieber and Burna Boy, plus Gustavo Dudamel and the PS22 choir featuring Coldplay. Chris Martin oversaw the bookings, as he did for last year’s Club World Cup. The show also supports FIFA’s Global Citizen Education Fund with $1 from each ticket; FIFA had raised $60 million to date, toward a $100 million target. Carrington said FIFA aims for an experience organic to the tournament, unlike Super Bowl comparisons despite the director’s prior NFL work since 2010.
