First look inside the luxury £54m hotel that's opened by Manchester Airport highlights a new premium lodging option aimed at business and early-departure travelers. The Dakota hotel opened six weeks ahead of schedule, occupying a slate-grey building on Enterprise Way with a large gold-lettered canopy entrance and a setting near the JetParks car park. It marks the first phase of a wider area plan, as Manchester council submitted proposals earlier this year for “MIX Manchester,” a 60-acre development that could create 8,000 jobs and be operational by the last quarter of 2027 if approved. The 154-room hotel offers only king rooms and four suites, plus facilities including an American-style bar, Dakota’s grill serving Aubrey Allen-sourced steaks, and a cigar terrace. The airport group’s city-centre Dakota opened in May 2019.
