From Legacy to the Next Generation: Catamaran Sailors Receive Barranjoey Pins

Greg Cann, Greg Goodall, Archie Gargett and Sarah Hoffman were recognised at Australia’s State Sailing Awards with Barranjoey Pins, celebrating the next generation of catamaran talent. The pins, introduced in 2018 through the Australian Sailing Team Alumni Program, honour sailors who met Australian Sailing Team standards or achieved a top-10 result at an Olympic-class World Championship, Olympic or Paralympic Games before 2006. At the Victorian awards, Cann (#109) and Goodall (#250) received theirs from Glenn Ashby (#166). Cann’s record includes wins at the 1987 Australian Paper Tiger Championship and 1989 Interdominion. The NSW awards saw Gargett (#252) and Hoffman (#253) take pins from Olivia Price (#183) after their 2026 Olympic Nacra 17 breakout season.
