General Staff: Russia has lost 1,390,660 troops in Ukraine since Feb. 24, 2022

Russia’s war toll in Ukraine continues to mount, with the General Staff reporting roughly 1,390,660 troops lost since the February 24, 2022 invasion, as of June 20. The daily tally included 1,240 Russian casualties, and equipment losses are extensive: 12,041 tanks, 24,787 armored vehicles, 109,342 vehicles and fuel tanks, 44,386 artillery systems, 1,883 MLRS, 1,433 air defense systems, 436 aircraft, 353 helicopters, 361,803 drones, 1,695 unmanned ground vehicles, 33 ships and boats, and two submarines. Ukraine does not disclose its own losses, but CSIS and other think‑tanks estimate Russia’s casualties to be several times higher than Kyiv’s, underscoring the war’s heavy cost for all sides.
