Get Timely Injury Boost Ahead of Commanders Game

The San Francisco 49ers are set to welcome fullback Kyle Juszczyk back Monday night against the Washington Commanders after he missed last week’s 49ers win over Seattle with a knee injury. Head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed Juszczyk will play. The veteran suffered a knee sprain and bone bruise in Week 4 against the Denver Broncos. The original expectation was a two- to three-week absence, though Shanahan said the recovery was faster than anyone anticipated: Juszczyk was limited in practice on Thursday and then fully participated on Friday and Saturday, entering the game with no injury designation. Still, San Francisco remains shorthanded: Nick Bosa is ruled out again, Deebo Samuel is out with a hamstring strain, and Mike Evans is questionable due to Achilles soreness and a rib injury, while defensive tackle James Thompson Jr. returns from a high ankle sprain and Christian Kirk’s window is open.
