Massie said Hegseth waged an unauthorized war in Iran for more than 90 days without congressional authorization, ignored directives to end it, carried out extrajudicial killings at sea, retaliated against a U.S. senator, seized Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro without legal authority, and launched unauthorized operations in Yemen. Massie read the resolution on the House floor for more than an hour, filing it as a privileged measure requiring a vote within two legislative days. The House is expected to vote during the current session before midterms.
