India highlights export potential to BRICS community
xCruzo Brief
India reportedly has 1,782 products with export opportunities within BRICS, yet holds only an 8.4% share of that market, according to a study cited by ANI. The research was conducted by the Export-Import Bank in association with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). It says India has the second-highest number of export-potential products among BRICS members, trailing only China, but that its relatively low market share points to a gap between export competitiveness and actual presence in bloc markets. The report highlights strengths in pharmaceuticals, petroleum products, automobiles and components, and engineering goods, calling them “established, high potential.”
