India uniquely positioned to produce low-cost renewable power round the clock: Power2X CEO
A Netherlands-based clean energy executive says India could become a major supplier of low-cost renewable power and green fuels for overseas markets. Occo Roelofsen, CEO of Power2X, told ANI in The Hague during Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal’s visit to the Netherlands that India’s abundant solar resources and competitive generation costs, alongside expanding energy storage such as battery and pump storage, make 24-hour low-cost renewable power feasible. He also linked the setup to export opportunities, saying renewable electricity can be converted into green ammonia or methanol for industries like those in the Netherlands. Roelofsen said Power2X is in discussions to import green methanol to its Rotterdam facilities and noted talks on an India–Netherlands “green corridor.”
