It's hard to say': Ciraldo refuses to lock in Bulldogs halves plans, confirms Xerri release talk
Cameron Ciraldo said the Bulldogs’ halves reshuffle—pairing captain Stephen Crichton with Lachlan Galvin—will not be locked in long term, even after a positive start against Manly. Speaking ahead of Canterbury’s Round 17 clash with the Titans on the Gold Coast, Ciraldo described last week as “a nice step in the right direction,” citing the courage shown “on both sides of the ball.” He said Crichton’s switch was not a reactionary change; the captain has prepared for the move across two pre-seasons, with training in the position for “over two years.” Ciraldo also confirmed Bronson Xerri has been granted permission to explore interest from other clubs while still contracted. Jacob Preston will miss another fortnight with a broken forearm; he remains out after being named to extended reserves.
