Key West travelers find a quieter place to stay

Travelers looking for a calmer stay near Key West are being drawn to Stock Island, particularly The Perry Hotel & Marina Key West. While Key West’s Duval Street typically captures much of the Florida Keys’ visitor flow—tourists spend $3.5 billion per year in the Keys—Stock Island sits just east of the island and keeps a working-waterfront pace. The Perry offers a 100-room property about 15 minutes from downtown, with two pools and two restaurants plus immediate access to a marina. The marina has 288 wet slips for vessels up to 300 feet, with a maximum draft of 18 feet. The hotel opened in 2017 and received a Michelin Key in 2024.
