Lagaan' screening: Paul Blackthorne joins Aamir Khan and cast at 25-year celebrations

Lagaan’s 25th anniversary brought the film’s cast to Mumbai for a commemorative screening that drew actor Paul Blackthorne into the spotlight alongside Aamir Khan. Blackthorne appeared in a blue shirt with brown cap, while Khan, his daughter Ira, and ex-wives Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao joined the celebration on the red carpet. The producers announced a theatrical re-release for June 12–14. Lagaan, set in 1893 colonial India, follows villagers who, taxed and faced with drought, are challenged to a cricket match to avoid paying taxes. The film won eight National Film Awards, including Best Popular Film, cementing its enduring legacy.
