Life raft from missing fishing boat found washed up on Shetland

A life raft belonging to the fishing boat Kilda, which vanished off the Isle of Lewis, has been found washed up on Shetland. The Kilda disappeared on October 13, and the vessel itself has not yet been located. The body of crew member Douglas Craigie, 49, was recovered at around 2:45 a.m. on October 14. Two other men aboard—Norman “Tam” Murray, 40, and Murdo Morrison, 23—remain missing. Earlier that week, police said searches around two “areas of interest” near Lewis found no sign of the men. On Thursday, Police Scotland said the raft was confirmed as belonging to the Kilda and was recovered near West Burrafirth on mainland Shetland.
