Lifeboat team escorts 16ft broken-down fishing boat back to harbour

Workington RNLI volunteers were called out after a 16-foot fishing boat suffered a mechanical failure and drifted off the coast near Workington pier. The incident occurred on Saturday, October 3, and triggered the response from the lifeboat team. The RNLI crew launched their D class lifeboat, James R Allen, at 3:50pm and arrived on scene five minutes later. By the time they reached the area, the disabled boat was already being towed by another vessel. Both boats were escorted back into the harbour, where the 16ft craft was safely secured alongside its berth. The lifeboat returned to station at 4:05pm to prepare for the next search and rescue callout.
