Loveland Bass Pro Shops to open after reeling in massive aquarium with a 70-pound blue catfish
Loveland Bass Pro Shops is scheduled to open Wednesday at 5945 Bass Pro Drive, featuring an indoor water-themed build around a major aquarium display and a 70-pound blue catfish. The 130,000-square-foot store, Bass Pro Shops’ sixth location in Colorado, opened its doors to the public after a media preview Monday featuring general manager Ian Ebersole. The décor blends sporting retail with outdoor-museum style murals and photographs of Colorado scenes. At the center is a 12,000-gallon aquarium framed by a 3-dimensional recreation of Colorado’s Crystal Mill, with water cascading into the tank and continuing through a 3,000-gallon trout stream display. Ebersole also highlighted a 60-yard electronic archery range with projected moving targets, plus a toy shop and a planned “kids zone” later this year.
