Magpies star trying to escape dangerous tackle ban for second time this year -- Tribunal LIVE
Collingwood’s Billy Frampton is contesting a dangerous tackle ban for the second time this year after being handed a one-game suspension for last week’s win over North Melbourne. At the AFL Tribunal, Frampton is defending a rough conduct charge graded as careless with medium impact and high contact. The Magpies backman will miss Saturday night’s blockbuster against Carlton if he cannot downgrade or overturn the decision. The incident involved Frampton pinning the arms of Kangaroos youngster Matt Whitlock during a rundown tackle, after which Whitlock’s head made contact with the turf at Marvel Stadium. The original call was holding the ball but it was overturned due to the tackle’s dangerous nature. Frampton previously avoided a sanction in a separate case involving Brody Mihocek.
