Manufacturing PMI® at 55.6%; July 2026 ISM® Manufacturing PMI® Report

The ISM Manufacturing PMI® for July registered 55.6%, marking seven straight months of expansion and the highest level since May 2022, according to the Institute for Supply Management’s latest report released Aug. 3, 2026 in Tempe, Arizona. Susan Spence, chair of the ISM Manufacturing Business Survey Committee, said new orders rose to 56.7% and production climbed to 58.5%, the best since November 2021. Employment increased to 52.8%, indicating expansion for the first time in 33 months. Prices stayed in expansion territory at 71.1%. Supplier deliveries slowed for an eighth consecutive month, while inventories showed mixed results, with customers’ inventories still too low. Import and export order indexes returned to expansion.
