Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation Announces Record-Breaking Scholarship Awards for 2026-2027 Academic Year
The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation announced a record-breaking investment in 2026-27 scholarships, awarding $12.635 million to 2,906 students nationwide, the largest in the Foundation's 64-year history. Based in Alexandria, Virginia, MCSF notes that recipients come from all 50 states and 18 overseas bases and territories, reflecting broad reach and impact. Since its founding in 1962, the Foundation has awarded nearly 60,000 scholarships totaling more than $235 million. The current class maintains a 91% graduation rate, with 48% first-generation students and 63% graduating with little to no debt. Ted Probert, president and CEO, emphasizes that every eligible student received support this year, reinforcing the Foundation's commitment to expanding access to higher education for military families.
MCSF highlights its status as the nation’s oldest and largest provider of need-based scholarships for military children, supported by accreditation from the BBB and Charity Navigator and a Platinum Seal from GuideStar. The 2026-27 awards continue a legacy of education, training, and workforce development opportunities across all states and bases.
