Maryland Fishing Report - November 2nd
The November 2 Maryland fishing report says main Bay and river-mouth water temperatures have dropped to the low 60s, while smaller rivers and streams are in the low to mid 50s. Bottom waters generally have adequate oxygen, but continued dry conditions are keeping Bay salinities higher than normal. The report expects average river flows and average clarity in most areas, though algal blooms will reduce visibility in the Back and Sassafras Rivers. Above-average tidal currents are expected through Friday due to the October 26 full moon. For striped bass, cooler temps are boosting fishing, especially in the tidal rivers where paddle tails and soft plastics work well in morning and evening. It also highlights good action near Baltimore Harbor, the Gunpowder, Bush, Chester, Magothy and Susquehanna river mouths, plus mixed blue catfish and striped bass at Conowingo Dam.
