Masked group disrupts Dover ferry traffic with apparent protest over migrant crossings

A masked group blocked roads leading to the Port of Dover on Saturday, disrupting Britain’s busiest ferry gateway, in an incident officials said appeared to be an anti-immigration protest over migrant crossings. The Port of Dover said traffic in and out was “stopped due to an ongoing public order incident,” while police reported they were engaging with protesters. Footage showed dozens of men in black with faces covered standing across a major road and linking arms while shouting “stop the boats.” National Highways said the blockage caused a 6.4-kilometre traffic jam Saturday morning and routes reopened later. P&O Ferries said affected passengers would be offered the next available crossing.
